CASL Consent & Unsubscribe

Manage your communication preferences under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation

About CASL

Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) protects Canadians from unsolicited commercial electronic messages (CEMs) while ensuring businesses can continue to communicate with those who want to hear from them. REintel is committed to full CASL compliance in all our electronic communications.

Your Rights Under CASL

  • Right to consent: You must give consent (express or implied) before receiving commercial messages from us
  • Right to identify the sender: Every commercial message we send clearly identifies REintel as the sender, including our contact information
  • Right to unsubscribe: Every commercial message includes a functional unsubscribe mechanism
  • Right to timely processing: Unsubscribe requests are processed within 10 business days as required by CASL

Types of Consent

Express Consent

You have explicitly opted in to receive specific types of messages. Express consent does not expire unless you withdraw it.

Examples: Subscribing to our newsletter, opting in to property alerts, requesting market updates.

Implied Consent

Consent is implied through an existing business or non-business relationship. Under CASL, implied consent has time limits:

  • Existing business relationship: 2 years from your last purchase, transaction, or active account usage
  • Inquiry-based: 6 months from the date you made an inquiry or application

Transactional Messages (Exempt)

Certain messages are exempt from CASL consent requirements. These include account notifications, security alerts, password resets, and messages required to fulfill a service you requested. These messages cannot be unsubscribed from.
